TripLife is committed to your privacy and in helping you protect it. TripLife is a networking community of frequent travelers that makes travel more productive and enjoyable. It helps you share your travel plans, arrange meetings with others and network with new and old contacts (the “TripLife Service” or the “Service”) while maintaining your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes when and how we collect information, what we collect, and how we store, use and protect it. The Privacy Policy covers only information connected with use of the TripLife Service and does not apply to any information collected or used by our linked or partner sites. TripLife is committed to respecting the privacy rights of those Members, visitors, users, and others (“Users”) who use the TripLife Service. To enhance the utility of the Site and/or the Service, some personal information we ask for is displayed to other Members. In order to fully understand your rights related to privacy issues, TripLife encourages you to review this Privacy Policy. Each time you visit the Site or provide us with information, by doing so you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy at that time. By registering as a Member of the Service and/or using the Site, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you should no longer use the Site and/or the Service. This Privacy Policy is not the only document that governs your use of the TripLife Service. Your agreement with TripLife is governed also by the Terms of Use Agreement which you must accept during the sign-up process before you can use our Service.
We will record the information you give us when you register, and retain it until you ask to close your account by sending an email to support@TripLife.com. When you close your account, we will remove your profiles from all networks searchable by Members and only retain an archival copy. However, records of messages between you and other TripLife Members and any of your personal information that related to those may remain in the TripLife Service if those other Members maintain an open TripLife account. When you register, TripLife will ask for and record: your screen name, password, gender, date of birth, country name, ZIP/postal code, email address and similar information, which may personally identify you. You may update this profile information at any time by logging onto your TripLife account (except for the registered email address which we use to help protect the confidentiality of Members’ and their trip itineraries). After you have registered, you have the opportunity to enter additional personal and professional information into the TripLife Service in the “Profile Section” for the purpose of networking. Providing additional information beyond what is required at registration is entirely optional, but enables you and other TripLife Members better opportunities for matching and connecting. Some of the information you enter in your profiles may be used to help customize the content and the advertising on the Service, but will not be shared directly with third parties in personally identifiable form without your knowledge. The information you enter is available to you, and capable of being corrected or updated, through the “Edit Information” button in the “Profile” section. When you save other personal information in your profile we will collect any such information you enter. In addition, our servers automatically recognize users’ domain names, types of computers and web browsers accessing our website, and IP addresses (the number assigned to computers on the Internet). No personal information about you is revealed in this process. We may also gather anonymous traffic data that does not personally identify you, but that may be helpful for marketing purposes or for improving our service. After you have registered, you have the option of uploading to the Service the business and personal contact information of others whom you know from your computer. This can be done through the “Network” section of the website, the “Invite a Friend” or the “Share a Trip” portion. If Members elect to use the “Upload Contacts” feature, Members are electing to permit the TripLife service to search email addresses held within their email service on their behalf. If you choose this option, and choose to import your contacts from one of the email provider options offered, our software will upload from your computer your contacts’ first names, last names, email addresses and similar information. If members elect to import their contacts, they accept that by doing so, when the member selects a person or group of people, an email invitation can be sent on their behalf to the email addresses of the contacts that are being imported and that, from time to time, a reminder email could be sent to that contact, on their behalf. TripLife stores the names and email addresses of the contacts to enable the Member to contact their contacts via the TripLife Service and to send reminders of the invitation on the Member’s behalf. TripLife does not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication other than the ones on behalf of the Member. If a Member uploads contacts, the Member may also choose to send information about the Member’s travel plans to any of those contacts by using the “Share a Trip” feature. By sending information about travel plans to contacts, the Members agree that they have obtained prior consent from their contacts (a) to send them such information, and (b) to store the contacts’ personal information on the Site for this purpose. If Members click on “Share with Network” as part of the “Trip Details” section for an upcoming trip or if members click on “Share your Trip” as part of the “Network” section from a link on the TripLife website, and submit email address of their contacts which with they elect to share their trip, they accept that by doing so, an email will be sent on their behalf to the relevant email addresses, with the “Share a Trip” information of that Member. In addition, if Members click on “Invite Others” or opt to “Invite a Friend” from any other link on the TripLife website, and submit email addresses of their contacts to invite to join the TripLife Service, they accept that by doing so, an email invitation will be sent on their behalf, to the relevant email address, and that from time to time a reminder email could be sent to that contact, on their behalf. By inviting their contacts to join the site, the Members agree that they have obtained prior consent from their contacts (a) to send them such an invitation and reminder, and (b) to store the contacts’ personal information on the Site for this purpose. TripLife stores the name and email address of the contacts for the purpose of automatically adding the respondent to the contacts list of the Member sending the invitation and to send reminders of the invitation on the Member’s behalf. TripLife does not sell this contact information or use them to send any other communication besides invitations, invitation reminders, and trip detail information from the “Share a Trip” section on behalf of the Member. The Member or the Member’s contacts can request the removal of their details from the TripLife database at any time by sending an email to support@TripLife.com. Finally, TripLife may sponsor a promotion, sweepstake or contest on the Site. You may be asked to provide personal information, including, but not limited to, your name, e-mail address, phone number or home address, in order to participate. By entering a TripLife-related promotion, sweepstake or contest, you provide TripLife with express permission to transfer your personal information to a co-sponsor of the promotion/sweepstake/contest, including, but not limited to, an ad partner. Personal information will be used to notify the finalists and/or winners and to award prizes. TripLife and/or a co-sponsor reserve the right to publish names of contest/promotion/sweepstake winners and their cities or towns of residence to ensure transparency in the contest/promotion/sweepstake process and for promotional purposes.
We give you the opportunity to opt-out of certain communications and modify personal information or demographic information you have provided to us within the “Profile” section at any time by going to the “Profile” section of the Site. Please note that changing or deleting your information through this section, or otherwise opting-out of receipt of email communications from TripLife, will only change or delete the data in our database for purposes of future activities on the Site and for managing future communications from TripLife. These changes and deletions will not change or delete emails or information that we may have already forwarded to other Members or credit card companies or any other third parties, all as provided above in this Privacy Policy. Any Member of the TripLife Site can view your “Search Result Profile” and your “Full Public Profile” with the information that you have uploaded to the TripLife community. Only you and management, employees and agents of TripLife can view your other personal information such as name, full address and phone number, which do not appear in your “Public Profile” view. We ask that you do not enter private personal information or financial information into your “Public Profile”. Your disclosure of all personal information on the Site and/or through the Service is done so at your own risk. Accordingly, you should be careful and vigilant when disclosing any personal information on the Site and/or through the Service (which is subject to content restrictions described in our Terms of Use). Although we have security to limit access to your profiles, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Moreover, we cannot control the actions of other Members with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that content you post on the site will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the site. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Members have copied or stored your content.
We will use non-identifying information to tailor our services to you, for example, by delivering only advertisements relevant to your postal code or travel itinerary. We will aggregate and report this information to our content partners, for example, to help them measure audience size and composition and/or click-throughs on advertising. We do not, at this time, collect or share any personally identifiably information on our Members with any of our content partners, except as necessary to comply with the law. We do, however, share aggregated, anonymous information about our Members, including demographic information with content partners so that they can understand the makeup of the audience for advertising and the effectiveness of the TripLife Service for event networking, and make better decisions about how to serve that audience. To operate the site, including processing your transactions and supporting your activities on the site, we may share your personal information with our agents, representatives, contractors and service providers so they can provide us with support services such as authorization of credit card transactions, email origination, receipt or support services, customer relationship management services, order fulfillment and sweepstakes and promotional fulfillment. By purchasing, or registering or making reservations for, products or services of third parties offered on the Site, or by participating in programs offered on the Site that are administered by third parties and that require you to submit financial information in order to use them, you also consent to our providing your financial information to those third parties. Any of these various third parties may be authorized to use your financial information in accordance with our contractual arrangements with such third parties and in accordance with their own privacy policies, over which we have no control, and you agree that we are not responsible or liable for any of their actions or omissions. Additionally, you agree that we may use and disclose all such information so submitted to such third parties in the same manner in which we are entitled to use and disclose any other information that you submit to us. TripLife sends account summaries and location emails that notify Members if other Members are planning a trip to the same location. If you match with another TripLife member for an upcoming trip, and wish to try and connect with them, you may reach out to that Member via the TripLife message center using that Members screen name. TripLife will not disclose the other Member’s name or email information unless that other Member also happens to be someone you have uploaded and is within your Network. TripLife will email the other Member that you have requested a message to their personal email address and to their TripLife message center your request and they, in turn, can elect to communicate back to you via the TripLife message center. It is only if you or the other Member chooses to share with each other your own personal contact information that this information will be disclosed and then communications outside of TripLife are at your own risk and discretion. If another TripLife member matches with you for a specific trip and wishes to reach out and connect with you, they will elect to do so via the TripLife site by selecting your screen name and TripLife will send you an email to the email address we have on record and will also send you a message in your TripLife inbox in the message center. You may also receive email notifications when you have new mail in your TripLife inbox. We do not directly make your email address available to anyone on any screen of the TripLife Service. The only legitimate way of making contact with a person found on the TripLife Service is for a Member to enter a message which we will send on the Member's behalf. TripLife may also use a Member's e-mail address to send updates, notices, newsletters or news regarding the Site and/or the Service and/or pertaining to a Member’s Network additions and/or a Member’s potential matches. Members may elect not to receive e-mail of this type by notifying TripLife that they wish to be removed from these emails by sending an email support@triplife.com. However, TripLife reserves the right to send e-mail to Members at all times, regardless of their account settings, to alert them of material changes to their Membership. In the event that TripLife is acquired by or merged with a third party, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to sell or otherwise transfer the information we have collected from our Members, including but not limited to any personal information, as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors’ rights generally, we may not be able to control how your personal information is treated, transferred, or used. Therefore, you should know that in such event, your personal information may be treated like any other TripLife asset, and sold, transferred or shared with third parties, or used in ways not contemplated or permitted under this Privacy Policy, without notice to you or your consent. We may also disclose personal information or financial information when we determine that such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, to cooperate with law enforcement or to protect the interests or safety of TripLife or other visitors to the Site. TripLife also reserves the right to support the prosecuting of Members who, in our judgment, violate our Terms of Service or injure or interfere with TripLife’s or others’ rights or property, even when this may require disclosure of your personal information. We also may disclose your personal information or financial information to our subsidiary and parent companies and businesses, and other affiliated legal entities and businesses with whom we are under common corporate control. Whenever personal information or financial information is disclosed under this paragraph, we may also disclose your demographic information along with it, on a non-anonymous basis.
